Breathwork holds many different meanings depending on context. It centers on bringing awareness to the way we breathe, and consciously altering our natural cadence. I practice a style of pranayama that uses an active breath pattern to move energy and emotions that are stuck in the body. In my experience, it functions like an active meditation. It can relieve tension and anxiety, and lead to moments of revelation about whatever we’re consciously or unconsciously grappling with. Each session offers a unique physical and emotional experience, and often fosters deep love and appreciation for oneself.
